It comes like a flood and wreaks havoc on your heart. Suddenly, you just want out. The thoughts won’t stop. The movie keeps playing in your head. None of it makes sense. You feel an urgency and then…you act so that you can escape.
Lets hit the pause button for a moment. This is a condition I call “Deciding While Emotional” or DWE. Every now and again there is a pressing need to make a quick decision. However, most of the time the pressure is self inflicted. We want out, rather than to endure. We want now, rather than later. We want fixed, rather than broken. We avoid rather than approach.
This happens when we are in the valley instead of having our mountain top faith experience. We perceive that there is distance from God rather than the intimacy we crave. I want to encourage you today friend to walk through the valley no matter what you feel. Choose to approach rather than to avoid. Face this discomfort, pain and fear with Christ. You are not alone, you are dearly loved by Jesus. Let Him comfort you.
“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For you are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.” (Psalms 23:4 NKJV)
