It’s tempting to look away. It’s unpopular to discuss. Here’s the truth, every ten seconds a report of child abuse is made. Every day, five children in the United States die as a result of child abuse. Are you the neighbor that knows more than you want to know? Are you a volleyball coach who is relying on the math teacher to report? Are you the spouse that tells yourself it’s much better than your childhood? Put an end to violence and SPEAK UP NOW!
You don’t have to have proof. You don’t have to be right. If you have suspicion or concern, call and report it. Using your voice can give a child a chance at life. Silence is deadly. If it really is nothing, than nothing will come of it.
We are the hands and feet of Christ. Jesus did not ignore sin. He did not look the other way, neither should we. I meet with so many people that have survived abuse. They are now struggling with the scars it has left. We can prevent some of those scars with action instead of passivity. Be bold in Christ and take a stand for righteousness. You may not always be right but you may save a life. Be an answer to prayer!
