Trust and Soar!

Did you know that an eagle will fly to the crest of an approaching storm to catch a lift? Unlike any other birds that take cover attempting to avoid destruction caused by storm conditions, these amazing birds of prey lift above it. They harness the power of aerodynamics and ride above the storm. They do this without ever attending a seminar or class on trusting in the lift-drag ratio! We could all learn from eagles.

What’s remarkable in this bird fact is the idea that the eagle exerts less energy when the skies are chaotic. They coast on the turbulent force of the wind. They rest in it’s mighty power. Think about the last storm you were in. In life we face challenges in work, relationships, and even physical health.

What kind of bird are you in the storm? Do you hide and freeze paralyzed by the weather or do you ride the wind and rely on the power of God? I’ve done both. I encourage you to let God do the heavy lifting. When the storms of life crashed down on my family, I rested in Him. In the suffering, we began to rise and soar! Praise God, even the wind and waves obey!

Have you never heard? Have you never understood? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of his understanding. He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. The will walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40: 28-31
